Born in Changuitiro, Michoacán, Mexico and raised in Central California, Victor Maldonado is a contemporary artist, freelance curator, and writer currently based in Portland, Oregon. A graduate of the California College of the Arts and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago,Victor Maldonado has been a faculty member at the Pacific Northwest College of Art since 2007 as part of the Intermedia, Thesis and Painting Departments. His work has most recently been acquired by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX.

Maldonado creates images that balance humor with pointed cultural commentary. His paintings, prints and videos and public art mix the iconography of consumer advertising, agriculture and industrial manufacturing to create visual symbols of our shared
