| September 2009: We are honored to exhibit Rick Bartow's newest works in: Snake Dance. Bartow rose like fire after facing down a deadly infection, and his mark is stronger than ever. Through an astute and vast knowledge of art history, Bartow addresses transformation mythology, and delicate portraiture. Exhibit tour with Mr. Bartow: Saturday, September 19th, 1pm.
TriMet installed his bronze sculpture The Responsibility of Raising A Child on Portland's Transit Mall: SW 5th at Taylor. Mr. Bartow's honors include: traveling mid-career perspective and monograph My Eye organized by the Hallie Ford Museum (2002-04); solo exhibit at The Smithsonian/ National Museum of the American Indian (2003); The Eiteljorg Museum Fellowship for Native American Fine Art (Indianapolis, 2001); and a year-long installation in the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden, The White House (1997). |
