Claudio Tschopp, a native of Basel, Switzerland, recently moved from Portland, Oregon to Brooklyn, New York. In October 2009, Froelick Gallery features a solo exhibition of Mr. Tschopp's new paintings. He received his BFA from the Academy of Fine Art, Venice, Italy in 2000. His paintings on canvas and paper are layered with autobiographical symbols and mythic creatures. The influences of formalism and expressionism are seen throughout his work.
