Five From Brooklyn, a Willamette Week Pick

WW art critic Richard Speer writes:
"Although this gallery is one of Portland’s premier showcases for local artists and artists from the larger Northwest, owner Charles Froelick makes a point to regularly intersperse artists from around the country and the world. This month the gallery spotlights five artists from Brooklyn, arguably the nexus of contemporary art today. The media in Five From Brooklyn run the gamut from painting, works on paper and sculpture to video and light projection. This quintet of artists—Clare Grill, Nat Meade, Ryan Mrozowski, Michael Schall and Mike Womack—all attended graduate school at Pratt Institute, a prestigious art school located in Brooklyn. All of the works in the show were made during the past three years."
