Willamette Week picks Kris Hargis' exhibit as a must-see this month

Kris Hargis has a gift for Egon Schiele-like portraiture. His subjects often appear wiry, grotesque and morose, but they are always rendered with a fine, expressive technique that invites the viewer into the subjects’ troubled minds. In Me and You, he draws and paints U.S. servicemen and -women returning from combat abroad. The subject matter should heighten Hargis’ ability to glean psychological insight into people in the midst of physical and emotional trials.
